About

The Tywardreath Trotter & Fun Run take place in late July each year (always on a Saturday between 24th and 30th July inclusive) and raise money for local village charities. The inaugural races were held in 2006. Since then the races have been held every year except 2020 and have raised over £33,000 for local charities!

The Race HQ is at The New Inn (PL24 2QP), in the centre of the Tywardreath, close to the south coast in mid-Cornwall.  The pub provides the drinks and there’s a great barbecue in the pub garden to provide a constant supply of food!

The races consist of a 1-mile fun run (which all ages and abilities can enter) and a 7-mile “Trotter” (which is open to runners aged 16 and above). Everyone who completes the fun run receives a medal. Prizes (mostly sausages from Tywardreath Butchers) for age category winners. Race results for the main race are provided on the day. Results for both races are posted on this website by the morning of the Monday after the race.

Since the first event in 2006 the race is now a firm fixture in Cornwall’s running calendar. The warm welcome, friendly marshals, fantastic scenery and great atmosphere make this a popular run for local runners and competitors from all corners of the globe.
